The following Terms and Conditions regulate the browsing and purchase conditions of the different products offered on our website.
Users who visit and/or make purchases on this website fully accept these Terms and Conditions/terms of service including any additional terms and conditions and privacy policies referenced herein and/or made available via hyperlink.
It will be a requirement to read and accept these Terms and Conditions before placing and accepting any order or project.
You can find the most updated version of the Terms and Conditions on this page. Instant Filament reserves the right to update the present Terms and Conditions at any time and without prior notice. It is the user's responsibility to stay informed of any changes.
Applicable Law
The Terms and Conditions of our website are based on Portuguese law, and any legal disputes will be resolved in Portuguese courts.
Service
Instant Filament provides a 3D Printing service on demand, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, where we turn 3D models into real, physical objects.
Order Process
- The customer uploads the 3D model they would like to have reproduced by Instant Filament, chooses the material, color, finish, number of perimeters, resolution, and infill. They then fill in the fields for name, email, and delivery time, and click "Request Quote."
- The values obtained in the website simulation are estimates and are therefore not considered the final price.
- The customer can also place an order via email to facilitate requests for multiple items or bulk orders.
- When placing the order, the customer is responsible for ensuring that the model is free of anomalies and is made with the correct dimensions, infill, colors, and materials.
- After placing the order, the customer must wait for confirmation from Instant Filament regarding the quotation status.
- Entry into the production waitlist for the order and its physical production will only begin after the customer has made the payment.
- When adding a 3D printing piece to the shopping cart, this piece is valid for the next 5 days. After 5 days, the piece will be removed from our database and must be submitted again. If the customer places an order with pieces older than 5 days, they may need to submit them again.
Design, 3D Printing, and Production
- The dimensions of the final product will have a margin of error of ±0.3mm (in X, Y, and Z). Pieces requiring technical precision or small dimensions/details should be submitted with this in mind.
- Given the nature of the printing mechanisms, pieces with large slopes (>60º) may require supports to enable their production, which will always be removed by Instant Filament.
- 3D pieces are printed exactly as requested on our platform (Instant Filament will decide the best build orientation for the model). The customer is responsible for ensuring that the piece was submitted without flaws, structural errors, and with appropriate dimensions.
Analysis / Review / Verification of the submitted quotation
This analysis consists of a feasibility study of the piece for 3D printing and ongoing optimization advice for it. This feasibility study does not guarantee that the produced piece will be suitable for the intended use, but it ensures that our technicians will assist, follow up, and advise to the best of their ability based on their knowledge and experience.
- Alert to structural issues of the piece that may affect production or its use.
- Taking into account the intended use of the piece, analyze, advise, and clarify technical aspects such as possible materials, density/infill, size, design, physical and/or chemical resistance of materials, production orientation, etc.
Shipping and Transportation
- When requesting a quote for the production of models, the user will have the option to choose between three production deadlines: Economic, Standard, and Express. After selection, an estimate of the time required for the production of the pieces will be presented. It is important to emphasize that these deadlines are only estimates and may vary.
- The delivery time for any order can be affected by various factors, such as workload, order specifications, and the quantity or dimensions of the project. Generally, the estimated deadlines for most orders range from 2 to 17 business days, and in some cases, it may extend to 30 business days or more.
- These deadlines are estimates and not guarantees. For large volume orders or to obtain a more accurate estimate of shipping time, it is recommended that the customer contact Instant Filament for information on the estimated production time.
- Once shipped, Instant Filament is not responsible for any delays, losses, or damages incurred by the shipping and transportation service.
- After confirming and reviewing the order, the shipping or delivery method will be arranged directly with the customer, according to availability and the most suitable options. If the customer has a specific preference regarding the delivery method or pickup location, they may mention it during the purchasing process. In situations where no preference is indicated, our team will make the decision that they consider most convenient to ensure efficient delivery.
Intellectual Property and Copyright
- The customer guarantees and is responsible for holding all intellectual property rights to any elements and 3D models provided for 3D printing and that these are free from any claims of intellectual property from third parties.
- If a product submitted by the customer infringes on the intellectual property rights of third parties, it will remain the customer's responsibility, and they agree to defend and indemnify Instant Filament against any loss (direct or indirect) and expenses arising from such infringement.
Cancellation
- Instant Filament reserves the right not to produce the 3D part or to produce the project without the 3D part that may be at risk of infringing third-party rights.
- All orders from Instant Filament are unique, and each print consists of customized objects, made at the special request of the customer and tailored, meaning that cancellation, exchange, or return is not possible once the printing service has been completed.
- If the customer chooses to cancel the printing, the printing and shipping fee (if applicable) will be refunded, excluding the transaction fee of €2 + VAT and the cost of work already completed (such as already printed pieces).
- Individual pieces in completed orders cannot be exchanged, and the exchange of pieces/3D models is always considered a total cancellation of the order. To make an exchange, the customer must contact Instant Filament as soon as possible to request the cancellation of the order.
- The customer must then place a new order with the new/correct pieces, and the payment for the previous/incorrect order will be refunded, deducting the cost of any pieces already printed (if they have already been printed) and the transaction fee of €2 + VAT.
- For any technical reason or production issue, Instant Filament may cancel an order, and the customer will be contacted via email and receive a full refund of the amounts paid.
Returns and Warranty
- The Instant Filament service guarantees that the printed model will substantially meet the characteristics of the ordered model, within the current limitations of FDM 3D printing technology.
- The Instant Filament service is not responsible for any non-compliance of the produced piece resulting from the customer's design/use, and it never guarantees that any produced piece will be suitable for the intended design/use. The customer is fully responsible for the design, tolerances, selected specifications, limits, post-processing, handling, alteration, installation, or configuration of the piece.
- The rapid prototyping nature of 3D printing implies that, depending on the customer's design, multiple pieces may need to be printed, various different materials may need to be tested, and alterations to the 3D design may need to be made until the customer achieves the desired result for their specific project.
- Instant Filament will decide the best build orientation for the model, and this cannot be rejected based on the chosen print orientation, the presence of supports, or any other inherent characteristics of 3D printing technology. Due to production reasons (different print orientation, raw material composition, etc.) and the irregular characteristics of FDM/SLA/SLS printing technology, there may be slight visual differences, physical or chemical properties between various copies of the same model.
- The Instant Filament service is committed to printing models with due care and attention. The produced pieces always undergo rigorous quality control to ensure they meet our strict quality standards.
- However, inherently fragile or detailed models may contain minor defects or imperfections relevant to the current limits of FDM 3D printing technology and cannot be rejected for these reasons. These may include: minor contaminations from other colors; filamentous and/or rough layer finishes inherent to additive manufacturing (which varies with the type of material and the print resolution used), supports, and minor dimensional differences and details within the margin of error of ±0.3mm.
- The Instant Filament service is a 3D printing service whose job is to professionally print the orders made by customers on the platform.
- The customer is responsible for all the details of the order they place, and it cannot be rejected for details inherent to the 3D printing model (such as thin/small parts that may be brittle, details that do not meet the minimum tolerance values), or for properties inherent to the chosen material (e.g., TPU being a flexible/soft material, PETG presenting a more filamentous finish, PLA having a low glass transition temperature and being able to deform when exposed to high temperatures (e.g., a car left in the sun during summer)). All types of materials have pros and cons, and the customer should inform themselves about them. If there are any questions, such as about materials or pre-orders, just contact us, and one of our technicians will be happy to assist and advise.
- In the case of stock shortages, the order amount will be fully refunded.
Minimum Price Guarantee Policy
- We guarantee the best price in the FDM 3D printing market, and if customers find a lower price, we will match it, provided the following conditions are met:
- We will match the 3D printing price upon receiving a valid, dated proposal referencing the item (3D model) from a competing service. The submitted document is subject to confirmation by Instant Filament.
- The minimum price guarantee policy does not apply if it results in a loss sale that negatively impacts Instant Filament (Decree-Law No. 166/2013, of December 27).
- The minimum price guarantee only applies to new orders and does not allow for deductions or refunds for prints already completed.
- Discounts/coupons cannot be combined with prints that already benefit from the minimum price.
ECO Policy for Reuse 3D Printing Portugal
As we always aim to deliver a final product that meets our professional standards of 3D printing quality, sometimes pieces may need to be reprinted more than once to ensure this level of quality before finally being sent to the customer. Since we have no use for pieces that do not pass quality control, we send these prototype pieces to the customer, as they may find them useful. These flawed pieces will be sent separately and identified as prototype pieces so that the customer can easily distinguish them from the final pieces.
Others
- If the customer does not request confidentiality during the 3D printing service order, they grant a royalty-free and unlimited license to Instant Filament to display the submitted design and/or a reproduction of the project for marketing purposes. The customer grants the right and permission to Instant Filament to take photographs/images and share them in any medium (CD, DVD, Internet, physical format, folders, etc.) for marketing purposes.
- Any image found on the website or simulation corresponding to the color of filament/material for printing or 3D printed pieces presents a color that is an approximation of what is seen in reality and may not represent the final product. Naturally, these may vary slightly depending on the lighting of the location where they are found or the type or calibration of the screen on which they are being viewed.
- We use the email submitted with the order to send relevant information related to Instant Filament products, such as emails regarding piece analysis services performed and emails about the status of the order.
